Paul Morrell is a well-respected British DJ, producer & remixer, with a career spanning two decades. He began playing house music in his home city of Coventry in the mid 1990s, however, was soon supporting major artists of the era at clubs including Progress (Derby), Steering Wheel & Subway City (Birmingham) and his own Classique Events across the U.K.
Paul has since gone on to have a hugely successful career as a DJ, and now regularly plays at clubs and festivals across Europe. Morrell appeared at the 30,000 capacity ‘Weekend Festival’, Helsinki, Finland, alongside Martin Garrix, Steve Angelo, Tiesto & Axwell, as well as regularly performing on the main stage of Pride Events including Birmingham, London, and Manchester with Dua Lipa, Basement Jaxx, Mark Knight, Sigala & Rudimental. He also holds residencies at world famous London superclubs Ministry of Sound, and XXL.
In 2018 Paul appeared for Matinee in Barcelona, as well as being asked to play at the highly prestigious Gatecrasher Classical event within the culturely & historically significant ruins of Coventry Cathedral in his home town.
As a remixer, Paul achieved a UK Number 1 single with his remix of Sweet But Psycho for Ava Max, which stayed at the top of the UK charts for four consecutive weeks making it the sixth highest selling single of the year. It has since gone on to achieve almost 6 Million Streams on Spotify and platinum sales in the UK. Paul has also produced official remixes for an array of pop artists including Troye Sivan, Kelly Clarkson and British girl band All Saints.
Club artists and DJs have also commissioned Paul to remix their work, including Galantis, Livin’ Joy, Stonebridge, Sonique, Judge Jules, Utah Saints, Ruff Driverz, Paul Oakenfold and KKlass. His official remix of Positiva records classic “As The Rush Comes” by Motorcycle (AKA Gabriel & Dresden) was released in 2017, and achieved commercial success in the UK and Europe, where it charted at No.1 in The British and European Club Charts respectively. It also featured on the ‘Clubland EDM Bangers’ compilation released by Universal Music.
Song writing and production are also two of Paul’s key creative skills, and have seen him collaborate with established vocal artists such as Boy George, Kelli Leigh, Laura White, Tara McDonald, Maria Nayler, Mutya Buena (Sugababes), Kimberly Wyatt (Pussycat Dolls), Katherine Ellis, Baby D, and Chris Leonard amongst others.
More recently, Paul has taken over the prestigious Saturday evenings, as presenter of a primetime show on the worlds biggest LGBTQ+ Radio Station, Gaydio. The station receives half a million weekly listeners. During lockdown, Paul was also asked to perform a socially distant DJ set on top of Coventry Cities highest building, in celebration of the city football clubs promotion. The live stream which was broadcast on both Youtube, Twitter & Facebook has since amassed half a million views, and also featured on Sky Sports News as well as regional news media.
